The pill that appears while Breaking Pen is writing now stays in one place; only the wave inside it moves. It used to slide across the screen in a loop while the model worked.
Softer, warmer shadows on the palette, the preview panel, and the pill. The old shadow was cut off in a hard straight line at the edge of the window.
0.2.4
⌘V, ⌘C, ⌘X, ⌘A and ⌘Z now work in every text field of the app, including the license key field. The app had no Edit menu behind the scenes, so those shortcuts went nowhere; right-click and Paste was the only way in.
0.2.3
The trial line in the menu bar now follows the clock. It used to keep the count from when the app started, so it could still say "1 day left" after the trial had ended, while Settings said the opposite.
The same line disappears the moment a license key is activated, without a restart.
0.2.2
The first run and Settings now look like Breaking Pen: the site's terracotta, the serif for titles, and the line "Your writing, just better." on the cover.
The first run shows the exact Accessibility switch you are about to turn on, and it flips the moment the permission is granted.
Settings gets the app's name and version at the top of its sidebar, a quieter selection colour, and an About page with links to the release notes, privacy policy, and support.
The link breakingpen://onboarding reopens the first run, for a support reply that needs you back on one step.
0.2.1
The app is now called Breaking Pen everywhere: the menu bar, Settings, the first run, and the app itself in Applications. It was called Neat.
The model, the logs, and the trial date move to ~/Library/Application Support/Breaking Pen on first launch. Nothing downloads again.
The first-run page names the seven-day trial and the price. An older build still said "free forever".
The link breakingpen://settings opens Settings. The old neat:// link still works.
0.2.0
A seven-day trial, then one lifetime license for USD 19.99, sold through Dodo Payments. One key works on up to five Macs.
A Translate action: fourteen languages, set in Settings, applied in place.
Settings has a sidebar: General, Palette, Instructions, Model, License, About.
Fix grammar moved from ⌃⌥G to ⌃⌥P, because ⌃⌥G belongs to Rectangle and Magnet. Your own choice is kept.
The palette opens at the text cursor and shows two chips: the last action and Fix grammar.
Every run is capped in length, so a long selection fails fast instead of hanging.
Signed with a Developer ID and notarized, so macOS opens it without a warning.
0.1.0
First release. A menu bar app for macOS 14 and later on Apple Silicon.
Fix grammar, De-slop, Make concise, Friendly, Professional, Write email, Write tweet, and your own saved instructions.
Three local models to choose from: Light, Standard, and Max. Downloaded once; the app never goes online for your text.
A Revert button on every change, with the last ten kept.
